We have arrived at a moment in our history where achieving equity in an era of healthcare system transformation is key to creating inclusive environments of care within the industry. Through collaborative efforts and an unwavering commitment to advocate for inclusion, the Healthcare Diversity Council will seize the opportunities ahead of us to accomplish our goals.

Our main focus to attain greater diversity and inclusion in the industry will be achieved by advancing cultural competency, increasing access to high-quality healthcare service, strengthening the medical research agenda, and ensuring optimal management of the health care system. Equally important is our goal to increase the diversity of the health professional pipeline in the major healthcare areas. The recruitment of diverse individuals into the educational pipeline of the healthcare professions determines not only their participation in the workforce but also their influence on the educational process. Ultimately, a diverse workforce enhances the quality of care needed to address the needs of our increasingly diverse communities.

Under the umbrella of the National Diversity Council, the Healthcare Diversity Council will collaborate with the industry to move healthcare competency and awareness forward with certainty and conviction.
